LIGHT SINGING, 2020
In progress. Still painting and stitching...
Unfolding into a still life of a thought.
Time Lapse... Rain follows, a bloom is unearthed, an echo of which blooms on paper.
Runaway in a blurry mirror. Don't underestimate her in an ordinary moment. Not the echo, she's the source. She's in free fall but she feels like a storm moving in...brace yourself
An echo of color, pulling apart or coming together. Dilation. .
I'm test driving new watercolor paper. This one is lovely to paint on, feels like a dream, but does not work well for lifting...and colors are drying a bit muted (But it looks so vibrant wet!) Any suggestions? Professional watercolor paper that has good lifting qualities? #artistseekingpaper #applybelow
Another painting in progress (one of many). I think it looks like an alien landscape at the moment. It's taking me on a journey...
Painting in progress...taking a pause to capture the textures and possibilities. It's easy to forget to take work-in-progress photos, I get too absorbed...but this is why I love watercolor-- look at those colors doing whatever they want with or without me. It's why some artists hate watercolor. This is why I love it. Painting in free-fall. You can plan it out all you want, but the paint doesn't care if you have a plan. Let go. Let it flow.
